A scorching hot day, a stunning former chapel, and a confetti moment I'll be talking about for years, this Derbyshire & Staffordshire wedding videographer heads to Rugby.
Bourton Hall was a little further afield for me, but only just, and it was more than worth the drive. This is a genuinely picturesque part of the world, and Faye and Daniel's day there was about as classic and beautiful as wedding films get.
An Incredible Setting, Whatever the Weather
Bourton Hall gives couples a brilliant choice: marry in the on-site chapel, a beautiful former Catholic chapel full of character, or opt for an al fresco ceremony in the idyllic gardens with the country house itself as a backdrop. On a hot summer's day like this one, an outdoor ceremony would have been very welcome, and either option would have made for a stunning film. Wherever the ceremony takes place, the grounds at Bourton Hall are simply perfection, and the team on site were brilliant to work alongside.
The Confetti Moment Every Bourton Hall Film Needs
If you know Bourton Hall, you know you can't leave without capturing the confetti staircase moment, and it's become something of a signature feature for weddings here. As Faye and Daniel shared their first dance, their guests lined the staircase around them, dropping petals down over the couple below. It's a genuinely magical thing to film.
My favourite frame from the whole day came from that exact moment: Daniel looking up in pure amazement as the petals fell, almost like a child seeing snow for the very first time. That single reaction shot captures the whole day better than words ever could.
A Brilliant Team to Work Alongside
Days like this only come together with a strong team, and this one was no exception:
- Venue: Bourton Hall
- Photography: JH23 Photography
- Hair: Wedding Hair by Sian Redmond
- Makeup: Makeup by Holly Paige
- Florist: Palm & Peony Flowers
Every one of them brought their own creativity to the day, and it showed in the finished film.
Looking Forward to Returning
Since filming Faye and Daniel's wedding, I've already had further enquiries from couples getting married at Bourton Hall, and I couldn't be happier about it. It's the kind of venue that stays with you, and I can't wait to be back.
