What Does a Wedding Film Actually Look Like When It Arrives?

Almost every couple I speak to asks what the film will look like. Almost none of them ask what it will look like when it arrives, and that is the part you will actually live with.

You will watch your wedding film on a sofa, on a phone in bed, on a laptop with your mum, on a telly at Christmas with both families in the room. So the way it reaches you matters more than most people realise when they are booking.

How do I deliver wedding films?

What does the film itself look like?

This is Laura and Daniel's feature film in full, filmed at Hanbury Wedding Barns in Staffordshire, playing in the Vidflow player exactly as it would in your gallery.

Is it easy to share with family?

Very. The gallery is private and password-protected, so it goes to the people you choose and nobody else. Grandparents get a link that opens on whatever device they own without you having to talk them through it on the phone.

What happens to the files in ten years' time?

You get 10 years of access, and you can download the original files at any point during that. So your gallery is not a link you need to rush to save before it disappears. It is simply there, for a decade, whenever you fancy watching.

Does Vidflow mean the videographer is good?

No, and I want to be honest about this rather than let it do more work than it should. If you're looking at wedding videographers and see "Watch on VidFlow", that's generally a good sign for the delivery experience, but it tells you virtually nothing about the quality of the videographer's actual filming or editing. VidFlow is the presentation/delivery layer after they've made the film.

So judge the films first. Watch full films rather than 30 second Instagram cuts, listen to how the audio is handled, and see whether the story feels like the couple or like a template. Then look at how it will be delivered. In that order.

When does it arrive?

Your teaser comes back within 6 to 12 weeks, and I aim for 6 to 9 even in the busiest part of the season. Everything else follows within a week of that. You will get an email with your gallery link, and from that moment it is yours to watch, download and share for the next decade.
